Volunteer Opportunities

Call for Governance and Human Resources Committee Volunteers!

Fresh Routes is currently recruiting community volunteers for the Governance & HR Committee. Governance & HR Committee members are responsible for assisting with the oversight on organizational policy, annual review of the board and executive director, risk management, and succession planning. Through the committee chair, the committee will also make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Specifically, we are looking for expertise in the areas of:

– Non-profit governance
– Law
– Human resources

Committee members are recruited for 1-year, renewable terms. Members are expected to participate in committee meetings as requested by the chair (approximately once quarterly). Committee members will gain experience in non-profit governance, organizational stewardship, employment standards, and human resources. Through other committee members, volunteers will also be exposed to a diverse range of organizational leadership skills.

Call for Finance and Audit Committee Volunteers!

Fresh Routes is currently recruiting community volunteers for the Finance and Audit Committee. Finance and Audit committee members are responsible for assisting with the review of organizational finances including, but not limited to, quarterly and annual financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls over financial reporting, and assisting with the annual external audit. Through the committee chair, the committee will also make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Specifically, we are looking for expertise in the areas of:

– Technical accounting, specifically regarding accounting standards for not for profit organizations
– QuickBooks software
– Working capital management
– Cash flow forecasting
– Internal financial controls

Committee members are recruited for 1-year, renewable terms. Members are expected to participate in committee meetings as requested by the chair (approximately once every two months). Committee members will gain experience in organizational financial leadership. Through other committee members, volunteers will also be exposed to a diverse range of finance and audit skills.

Call for Strategy Committee Volunteers!

Fresh Routes is currently recruiting community volunteers for the Strategy Committee. Strategy Committee members are responsible for collectively stewarding Fresh Route’s strategic direction and supporting the progress toward strategic goals. Through the committee chair, the committee will also make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Specifically, we are looking for expertise in the areas of:

– Strategic planning and implementation
– Revenue model development
– Systems thinking
– Human-centered design
– Impact evaluation

Committee members are recruited for 1-year, renewable terms. Members are expected to participate in committee meetings as requested by the chair (approximately once quarterly). Committee members will gain experience in strategic planning including strategy design, monitoring, and evaluation, revenue development, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit leadership. Through other committee members, volunteers will also be exposed to a diverse range of organizational leadership skills.
